I helped my daughter make this diaper cake for her friends baby shower. We added the card on the top. It was easy and tons of fun to make!

I used black glossy paper for this card with green, blue and gold powder. I used the same heat embossed technique as for the card below.I colored the humminbird image with chalks.

I made this card for a friends birthday. It was hard to give away because I loved the way it turned out. I put some glue onto glossy cardstock then added a few colors of pearlex (I think it was gold bronge and copper)and stippled it around. Then I used my heat tool to bubble it up until it didn't bubble anymore.The edges were outlined with a gold krylon pen. I colored the stamped image with sakura glitter gel pens and added a bow for the finishing touch.

Here the theme was to make a card from something that I found outside.The backgroud paper is Cardstock with Ranger Distressed Inks. To distress paper I Crumpled paper, smoothed it out, rubbed ink directly from pad to the paper, layered using 3 colors,then sprayed with water and let dry.
I glued sand on the frame around the stamped image. Then added sunflower seeds and the finishing touch was a few Peragrin Falcon feathers from a Juvenille that had visited our birdbath almost every morning that summer. Card and Keepsake in one!

Here I made a christmas card with an insert inside to hold a gift card. I put some different colored chalks on a scalloped circle then stamped the image over top with clear versamark. I took a tissue and rubbed it over the image for the finishing touch.

I've been neglecting my blogging for a year! It's time I added everything that I have done during that time. I'll try and remember all the cards and see if I can put them in order of month.
After my birthday last year I went to a monthly 'Just Stampers' meeting. We made cards which incorporated stamping on vellum. It also included some glitter techniques. I found it very messy with glitter everywhere, lol. It was great fun! We also made a vellum card which I enjoyed even more.

I was over at my friend Susan's house again today and we made this lovely card. Here I used Prismacolor pencils and baby oil. I was very happy with the result.

Susan gave me another image of the tulips to do at home and I tried using my Prisma Verithin pencils with mineral spirits. I had to press much harder with the verithin pencils and when I tried blending it with mineral spirits the top layer of CS started coming off. The result wasn't too bad but I'd suggest not to use the verithin pencils with the gamasol.

'Pull out Tag Cards'

I went over to a friend's house and she showed me how to make thes beautiful cards. I stayed for lunch and we made the day of it. We had tons of fun!
This 1st card has a light crackle finish to it. I also used watercolor pencils and 'Twinkling H20's' for the 1st time and now I'm hooked!

This second card was to help me jog my memory so I wouldn't forget how to make it again. I can't wait to make another one with a housemouse stamp!

'Shades of Blue'

I made this card for a 'Shades of Blue'swap that we were scheduled to do one month but the group meeting was cancelled. I didn't want the card to go to waste so I gave it to someone in my group that was moving to Ontario. That night she received many gorgeous cards!
Here I used alcohol ink in blue and silver shades on glossy photo paper. After it dried, I embossed with the Diamonds in the rough cuttlebug embossing folder.

Wedding card

This is the wedding card that I made for a friend of mine. I loved the way she made her invitations so I tried to make a card close to the same way. The difference was the size, Here is a copy of the wedding card that I received.

This is what the inside of the wedding card looks like.I added a pocket for the presentation money.My card was smaller than the invitation, I used a different cuttlebug folder (birds and swirls), I used dark pink on light pink layering and she used light pink on dark pink.

This is the inside of the wedding invitation.I love the cuttlebug die that she used for the flower and as soon as I can I'm going out to Michaels and buying it!
This was the most fabulous wedding reception that I've ever been at! They had assigned seating, A huge block of ice with their Sir Name Initial in it on a desk between the doors of the hotel dinner room. Inside the dining room everything was decorated in the wedding colors, there was a table for the kids loaded with white and pink candy sticks,jelly beans, bubble gum, gummy hearts and candy hearts.
There was a huge dessert table (and cake). Each guest received a lovely frosted glass with wedding words on it (I would have posted a picture but I gave the glass to my daughter). Videos on either side of the room were played of the speakers while they were talking (it was great because we had a table in the corner of the room and couldn't see the speakers very well and watching the screen was much more relaxing).

The meal was extrordinary (too much to describe) and dessert at our table was an ice egg filled with a chocolate mouse and whip cream on top of a tiny rolo)as small hole in the front of the egg enabled us to eat this decadent dessert.
I had a wonderful time!

My daughter and I put together these grad inviations. We bought the CS and Vellum at Michaels with our 50% off coupon (10invitations for $8). Then we attached a tiny scroll and hat that we made.
I added this verse to the scroll.

My first Spirelli Card

This is my 1st Sprielli Card. I have seen so many lovely spirelli cards but never made one myself. I decided it was time to try and make one. I had made string art pictures when I was younger but this is easier because you don't have to bang a bunch of nails into a board before you get started, lol.
For this card I used my largest scalloped nestability die and put it through my cuttlebug approx 4"(sandwiched in between a B and C plate). I also used a smaller nestability die to cut the smaller circle 2 1/2" (if you have the nestabilities it's the middle die). I stamped the smaller circle and colored it. I then used my Krylon gold leafing pen and outlined the edge in gold. Using my glue runner I glued the smaller circle to the center of the larger circle. Beginning anywhere on the large scalloped circle, I taped the end of a spool of gold metalic thread to the back and started wrapping the thread over and around my circle making sure I wrapped around every 8th space forward to back. I continued until I had wrapped my thread around each scalloped edge twice then cut the thread and taped it to the back. For the card I first folded my cardstock, then cut it out 5 1/2" x 4 1/2 "I added a strip of ribbon down the center of my card, then used pop-dots to put my finished product on my card. Then I decorated it with some flower stickers on each corner.

This is a card I made with the new Cuttlebug 'Puzzled' Die. I stamped a housemouse image on cardstock, colored it with chalks and markers then put it through my cuttlebug. I love the effect!

My first Flip/Flop Card

1.) For this card I was worried about getting the lines straight so I printed the template out on cardstock. The only thing different that I did was add decorative paper to the sides after I cut and folded the card.
2.) When cutting the lines out on the card I found it very hard to cut a straight line so I used a metal ruler turned upside down so the cork part of it was facing upward. I found that if I held the ruler very tight to the cardstock then it was much easier for me to cut a straight line with the exacto knife. I also found it easier to fold the template if I put the ruler on the fold and started the fold that way. Then I used my bone folder or any straight edge to Crispin the fold.
3) I bought a package of decorative paper from dollarama; it comes with all sizes in the pack. I used a piece approx 4" wide by 5 3/4" long and folded in half lengthwise which made it 2" wide folded. Open the strip of paper and cut it in half lengthwise with your cutter. This will make 2 strips
5) Repeat process 3 again. This will give you a total of 4 strips (2 for the front and 2 for the back of the card).
6) Glue the decorative pieces of paper to the template making your card 1" wider on each side. (You should have 1" of paper facing the front of the template and the other 1" glued to the back of the template).
7) Now take the other 2 pieces of decorative paper and glue them to the back of the template, covering the back side of the 1st piece, giving the back a much cleaner look. It should now look like this:
*Note: If I had some decorative cardstock I would have used that instead. I found that the paper warped a bit and was not very straight after the card was completed. It doesn't look bad but I'm sure that cardstock would have made the card look stronger. If you use cardstock then you would not have to add the piece to the back because the cardstock would be the same color (or two sided) and would not need to be covered up.

8) Then I placed my small cuttlebug folder at the top (making sure it was centered) and ran it through the cuttlebug.
I then put the folder at the bottom of the strip and ran it through the cuttlebug.

9) I then used a small piece of the decorative paper and ran it through the cuttlebug with my larger 'decorative flowers' embossing folder. I glued it to the center of the template with my tape runner and framed it with sticker strips (gold label brand, bought at a craft store). Using the cuttlebug and a small scalloped circle nestabilitie die, I punched out 2 circles with silver dollarama paper (one shiny silver and one matted silver). I took my Stampin up Riveting 'For You with Love' stamp and stamped it on a piece of off-white colour cardstock with black ink, then punched it out with a 1 1/4" circle punch (Stampin Up). Then I trimmed it around the outside edge. I then punched another circle with the same circle punch. Using a tape runner I connected the 2 scalloped circles where I wanted them, then the plain circle and mounted the stamped circle on top with a foam sticky dot. I then coloured it with a purple 'Jelly Belly' gel glitter pen and used crystal stickles for an accent.
10) On the back side center of the template I used 2 shades of decorative paper squares and placed them at each corner, then covered it with an embossed piece of cardstock (using the small heart embossing folder). And again framed it with the sticker strips. ** (before adding the embossed heart I brushed it across 2 shades of inkpads, red and gold).
11) When I printed the template on the cardstock I found that the letters (where you see the eyelets placed on the card) needed covering. So I punched holes and inserted the eyelets to replace the print.
12) Once the eyelets were in place I thought it looked off to have just eyelets there and nothing else so I strung the wool pieces that I got from dollarama and tied a know and trimmed off the excess wool.

I did this swap with Karyn Holt and ***wow*** lookat all the ***Card Candy***! I received 3 gorgeous cards, 2 beautiful coasters, ribbon, flowers,buttons,eyelets,brads, gems, tags and card candy with popdots already on the back! ;stamped images with little clothespins so I can make tiny mitts and hang them from a line; and a whole lot of dazzle star tape. I still have 2 christmas cards to make and I can't wait to get started!

Yesterday I was playing with inks. For my background I used photo paper. I dropped 2
shades of purple rainbow ink all over the page, then I
added alcohol blending solution and ink from my Krylon
silver leafing pen. I then took a piece of felt and
pat it all around until the page was filled. I waited
until the page was completely dry then put it through
my new cuttlebug machine with the Stylized Flowers
folder.

My Favorite Crispy Oven Fried Chicken Recipe

This is my very favorite oven fried chicken recipe that my sister give me. I like to buy the chicken legs with back attached for a nice large leg. 1 or 2 peices is more than enough to fill you up.

Preheat oven to 400degrees

In a large ziplock bag mix:

1 cups flour
1 pinch of each nutmeg and sage
2 teaspoons paprica
2 teastpoons seasoning salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

In a flat plastic storage dish pour 1/2-1C milk.

Add chicken to flour mixture one piece at a time and shake untill coated.

Remove from flour mixture and coat with milk. Add to flour mixture again until completely coated.

Melt 1/2c butter in foil lined roasting pan.

Add flour coated chicken pieces.

Baste every 20 minutes for 1hr or until crispy and brown.

Remove and serve with vegetables/salad and mashed potatoes.

My great neice's birthday (she'll be 9)is soon so I made this card for her. I thought I'd post it before sending it out.
I used Stampin Up CS with May Arts ribbon. The stamp is from the SU Blooming with Happiness set. I put the letter D on the ribbon for her name 'Devon'. I wanted to put a heart charm instead of the letter but I didn't have one handy. I may put some pastel buttons or flowers in the corners (if I happen to see some in the store before I send the card).
I haven't
decided on a verse yet so if you feel inspired, please post one for me :).

My daughter bought me 3 beautiful 'Birds Of Paradise' for my birthday on Aug.15th. I should have taken the picture on the first day. 2 of the blooms are gone but one still lives on strong. I took this picture to show everyone what a wonderful,thoughtful daughter I have and to share this beautiful bloom.

Shannon's challenge was make a card with a stamp and/or stamps and use them in a way which they were not intended or designed.
My 13yr old son is in his first year of football and its 4practices and 1game a week!I have footballs on the brain, so I made a card to match.
I made the flower and leaf petals with a football stamp that I got at michaels. I cut them out for flower petals then colored the petals with chalks and a blender pen and curled them with a pen.
I also got the ladybug stamp at michaels. I added handles on the ladybug to make a pair of scissors.
I used stampin up cardstock (Rich Regals) and the ribbon is 3/8" May Arts pink and white sheer polka dot.
The flower stem is made of a peace of green shoestring craft leather. I used gold pigment ink from ColorBox for the outside of the card stock.

I'm very new at blogging and it sure takes alot of time to get things just the way your want. Thats something I'll have to work on.
